Learn how to quickly defrag your computer’s hard drive from the command prompt in Windows by watching my short video on disk defraging with contig in Windows CMD.exe. I used CMD in Vista, but it works for Windows XP, Vista, and 7. I have not tested it in 2000, but it probably works for 2000 as well since it runs in CMD.
Contig is a fast command prompt defragger which hardly use any system resources. Plus, it is only 100KB to download. Great for dial up users!
All you have to do is open an administrator command prompt if you are using Vista or 7, or regular cmd in XP, and type the line line “contig -s C:\*.*” to defrag the C:\ drive for your PC.
