Mount a CD image ISO file or Virtual Hard drive in Virtual Box Virtualization software Video

All you have to do is Click your virtual PC then Settings Buttons. When you reach your settings, click on storage section. and click on the folder shortcut for your drive or CD.

Click the Add button, and look for your Image for your CD which is an ISO, or VDI, VMDK, VHD, and HDD for your virtual device.

Read my tutorial on Mounting a VMware VMDK file in Sun VirtualBox tutorial . It is basically the same for mounting ISO, and other Virtual storage device file types.

I’m using Oracle VM VirtualBox build 4.0.4 r70112 and am having trouble with installing Window 95 from an ISO file (my host computer is running Windows 7, BTW).

In your video you seem to be using an earlier build (or different version) of VirtualBox than me. So, using your video as a guide — though not the exact same procedure — I went under Settings>Storage and used Add CD/DVD device for the file Windows_95_98_ME.iso, and Add Hard Disk for the file Windows95.vdi. Those two files are now listed in the IDE Controller panel.

Next, back in the main VirtualBox Manager window, I hit the start arrow — or double-click “Windows 95″(as I’ve named it) in the left pane window. Then a DOS window comes up with a numbered list (in Portuguese, I believe) of operating systems to choose from. I scroll down to number 5, Windows 95.

Now, here is where I don’t know what to do next, as nothing happens which indicates any kind of change has occured. Windows 95 does not start running. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (And if you could email me the information — or at least let me know that you’ve posted it here — that would REALLY be appreciated!)

Sorry, I can’t help you since I never installed Windows 95 on VirtualBox, but you can check out the forum for Windows Host for VirtualBox at forums.virtualbox.org/viewforum.php?f=6 to see if the VB forum has an answer to your problem.
