Speedbit Video Accelerator is a small program which make video download faster from online video sites which uses flash like Youtube, Metacafe, Veoh, Vimeo, dailymotion, and many others. The paid version also speeds up downloads from iTunes music, and movies store which the free version also lacks.
If you want to turn of the Systemtray icon, Twitter, and Speedbit notification pop-ups then go to the Speedbit Icon on your system tray, and right click it then pick settings, and uncheck the stuff you don’t want. Click OK.
If you use an older computer, or rarely go on Youtube or other flash video sites, I recommend unchecking “Load on Startup” and just start it manually by clicking the desktop or startmenu shortcut. Click OK.
All the Application does, is set a high network priority to affinitize the process on your system. It may speed up the process of the buffering, however it will severely reduce the connection speed and quality to any other applications or computers on the network. I agree, Nicholas, but, I think most people will not notice the difference unless they are video chating on skype, online gaming, and doing P2P file sharing like Bittorent.
