Having Multiple Virtual Windows Desktop with VirtuaWin and Iconized add-on to increase efficiency tutorial + video

Do you find that you have too many programs, files, and windows open which makes your files, desktop, and other programs hard to manage due to all the clutter? If you do then VirtuWin and the Iconized VirtuaWin Add-on is the right software for you. VirtuaWin is a virtual desktop maker for Windows. It is used to extend your desktop, so you can better organize your open programs. For example, you can put all your opened office files in one virtual desktop, all your opened media files in another desktop, and all your browsers in another desktop. It is similar to the “work-spaces and multiple desktops” you see in Linux based operating systems like Ubuntu, Fedora, and Mandrake.

But, it works for Windows 9x to Windows 7.

You can download VirtuaWin from  http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/.

Iconized makes managing your numerous virtual desktops with VirtuaWin easier by creating a visual taskbar for the user to click to open their many applications.

Download Iconized at  http://sourceforge.net/projects/iconized/files/

Extract its zip folder to VirtuaWin-install-path/modules directory.

Iconized in module

Start VirtuaWin. Iconized should start automatically. If not, go to setup from the system tray icon, and pick setup then modules tab to enable iconized.

If you want to hide the iconized desktop selector, right click the iconized launcher, and pick setup then iconized. Lastly, go to  hide/show section, and assign a hide/show key. I like to use F7 since it is easy to remember, and I almost never use F7 as a keyboard shortcut key.

I hope this program makes managing your desktop easier if you constantly have the need to open programs to work on multiple files at the same time. This program is great for multitasking.
