Tips to Stop Scratches, Cracks, Dents on Capacitive TouchScreen devices like Tablets, Smartphones, eReaders

Scratches on TouchScreen devices caused by fingernails, rings,  ,watches can make your screen all scratched up, and not perform as well. You can use a screen protector, case, and a bag to protect your touchscreen from scratches. In my experience, a case and bag is good enough to protect my tablet from scratches, and damage since I don’t wear hand or finger jewelry, so I’m not very likely to scratch my screen with my finger since I also cut my nails very short. It is also easier to use touchscreens when your nails are short since you do not have to worry about your nails scratching your screen, and your nails don’t get in the way of typing, and pressing buttons and links.

These tips I mention will make your tablet and other touch screen devices last a lot longer because they won’t be damage as easily from physical damage from scratches, falling objects, falls, etc when it is protected with cases or a box.

A case and bags will also protect your tablet, and phone from low drops if it is a padded case which can protect your phone and tablets from drops, bumps, and dents.

Cases and bags could also protect your phone and tablets from water from dropping or soaking onto your tablet or phone. A case and bag which covers your tablets whole screen and case will stop keys, pens, and sharp objects from poking, and scratching the screen, back, and side of your tablet, and you won’t bend your touchscreen if the case is a hard plastic or metal case if you fell down or someone bump into you.

Some Cases even has a hand strap for strapping your Tablet to your hand when in use to stop it from falling to the ground because the case is tied/strap onto your hand when in use by you, and when it is not in use, you just zipper up the case to protect the screen from the outside.

You can also cut your nails, and not wear rings, bracelets, and metal jewels which would scratch your glass screen when it drags across the screen.

Using a capacitive Stylus is also safer for touch screens since it has a rubber tip, and it is dry unlike your hand which might have water, and dirt and sand which could dirty or damage your screen.  Capacitive stylus also don’t have hard edges, so it won’t scratch your screen like your fingernails on your hand. Stylus also make drawing, typing, writing, and clicking on small links, and buttons on website and apps a lot easier on tablets, and smartphones.

I also like putting my Tablet eReader into a hard box like a shoe box made of hard cardboard, wood, or metal when I’m not using it at home since the box protect the tablet, phones, netbooks, MP3 players and other fragile electronics from falls, water spills, dents, falling objects, dirt, and the outside world when the box is in a safe place like under my bed, coffee table, couch, etc.

Some tablets and smartphone unfortunately have the MicroSD memory card slot and other ports like headphone, and charging ports expose which can be bad if water soaks into the ports. You can use get a case/bag which also protects the ports from the outside when closed.  Some cases also can double as a stand which lifts your tablets a few inches off the table, so it is less likely for water to soak into the ports because it is higher then the table, so water just washes by the tablet, and not into the ports, speakers, and screen because the tablet is a inch or higher from the table’s surface. A Stand will also make your tablet stand up on a table, and is a lot safer then holding your tablet with one hand because the stand securely holds your tablet on a table, so you don’t have to worry about it falling off  your hand or table.

Thanks for the comment. I saw a video on YouTube which shows touchscreen which do not need touch. All you need to do is hover your finger over the screen, and the screen can sense your finger, and you click the screen by hovering lower over the screen.
