Rkill Stops Malware on Computer for Removal by Anti-Malware

RkillRkill by Bleeping Computers is a program which starts a command prompt window to scan your computer for known malware which are viruses, spyware, Trojans, etc. Some malware can stop you from loading anti-malware like MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, and your antivirus program like AVG, Avast, or Norton.

This makes removing malware almost impossible since your anti-malware cleaner software can’t even start because a malware program which is running on your computer is blocking your computer from starting any program, CTRL-ALT-Delete and Task Manager might also be disabled due to a virus or malware infection on your PC.

Rkill is easy to use, all you have to do is download it, and run it.

Before you begin, you should save all your work and exit all programs which you are not using.

Once you run Rkill, a command line window will appear. Be patient and wait for Rkill to finish terminating malware processes.

Once Rkill has terminated the malware program, it will display a log file in notepad which will look like this which shows what processes has been terminated.

This log file is located at C:\rkill.log.
Please post this only if requested to by the person helping you.

You need to use your antivirus and a Antimalware programs like Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, A2, and Spybot to scan your computer for malware and remove the malware infection since Rkill just stop the malware from running, but it was not designed to delete the malware infection .

If Rkill terminates a program which is not a malware, it is no big deal since you can just restart your computer or open the software again.

Rkill does not have an automatic download updates function, so every time you need to run it, you should download it from : bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic308364.html

A great Anti-Malware Software to remove a malware infection, or to keep your computer protected from the latest malware threats is MalwareBytes. I been using it for years, and it works great at removing malware, and its malware scans and removals are fast. The paid version of Malwarebytes has a real-time shield, so you are protected from malware whenever you are using Windows. MalwareBytes is one of the most effective antimalware programs for Windows.

Ubuntu Live CD or any other Windows and Linux based Live CD can be used to delete Malware if you know the location of the malware file on your Windows System hard disk!
