I’ll show you how to get back the 9 most opened closed tabs in Internet Explorer 8 when you open a new blank tab. The 9 most opened tab links allow you to just click on a link to the website, and Internet Explorer goes to the website when you click on one of the 9 most opened tabs which you previously closed.  By default Internet Explorer 8 should be able to show you the 9 most opened closed tabs when you open a new tab, but sometimes another software, spyware, or another user changed Internet Explorer 8 to show a blank page or your homepage.  The 9 most open tab also gives you access to Internet Accelerators which are search engines like Bing, and other plug-ins to accelerator your browsing experience, and there also a link to an InPrivate browser window which does not log your browsing history or keep your temporary internet files.

1. Go to Tools > Internet option menu item in Internet Explorer Menu bar

2.  Under Tabs heading click on Settings

3. Click on the restore Updates button on the bottom right and restart your browser.

4.Test out your new settings and see if you get the blueish tab back when you make a new tab.

If my tutorial did not work, you can try doing a system restore to a time when your blank tabs showed the “9 most opened closed tabs in Internet Explorer 8″  or you can try a repair install of Windows or Internet Explorer which just means reinstalling Windows from within Windows, and doing a upgrade instead of a clean or customized install.
