youtube.com/johnsonyip1 For more PC help Videos. ImgBurn is a free program which you can use to burn your files onto optical media like CD-R and DVD-R. Burning files onto a disk is good because if your hard drive crashes. You still have a physical copy of your files on a CD or DVD. If you use Archival grade CD and DVDs, the disks are scratch resistant and can last for many years longer then hard drive and flash drives. ImgBurn is very east to use all you have to do is click “Burn filed/ folder to disc” button and follow the wizard to burn your data disk.

Download Imgburn at ImgBurn.com

During Disk burning, I recommend not using your computer if it does not have a lot of free RAM since the burning software uses RAM to buffer the files for burning. If your PC does not have enough free RAM you may experience a Buffer under run error which happens when your computer can’t buffer your files fast enough for burning and your burned cd failed.

I recommend burning your DVDs and CDs at slower speeds to reduce the risk of corrupt CD DVD burns /Burn errors. It is also a good idea to verify your data after burning by checking verify in ImgBurn. Plus, opening your CD in Windows to see if every file is there and works.

Your drives will also last longer since they are not moving as fast. Plus, it decreases the risk of buffer under run errors.

Optical disks brands I recommend and have used are : Maxell, Fuji, and Verbatim. LG makes some pretty good DVD-RW and CD-RW burners as well.

Hi Joewee, You use the “Write Image File to Disc” feature in ImgBurn, and load your ISO Image file to ImgBurn by clicking on the folder icon in Imgburn. Lastly, you click the burn button at the bottom.

I never use Nero, it’s very much complicated, more button pressing, just to burn a DVD/CD. With Imgburn, writing files to the the DVD/CD is just as easy as copy a file to a USB drive. Powerful yet Simple to use software.
