The most common ways to install a Ubuntu or any other Linux ISO CD is with a CD install disk. However you need to burn it yourself by using a ISO burning software which is built-in to most full featured burning software like CDburnerXP which is free.

CDburnerXP makes it very simple to burn an ISO. All you do is follow the ISO burner wizard, and drag your ISO file to the ISO textbox within CDburnerXP.

In this video, I will teach you how to burn Ubuntu 10.04 LTS install disk onto a Blank CD-RW or CD-R. I also teach you how to erase a CD-RW if you are using a CD-RW instead of a CD-R.

Burning a ISO is a lot cheaper then ordering the install CDs from Ubuntu’s online store since you do not have to pay for shipping and handling or the CD case. With the money you save, you can donate more to CDburnerXP and the Ubuntu projects on their websites, or buy their paid software and products sold on their sites.

Download Ubuntu at http://ubuntu.com

If you find your CDs are not working after burning, try burning them at a slower speed. You can also try different brands of CDs. I recommend Verbatim, Maxell, and Fuji.

If you need a new CD or DVD burner, I recommend LG burners since they are pretty durable, and works great. I been using LG burners for almost 9 years and have not have many problem with them.
