Install Wine Windows Emulator + CCleaner on Ubuntu 9.10 Video

WineHQ for Ubuntu Linux lets you emulate Windows software in a Linux environment, so you can play your favourite Windows games in Wine, or use your favourite Windows applications like Winamp or Foobar2000 media player in Ubuntu 9.10.

Go to Ubuntu Software Center on the Applications menu on the top left of  Ubuntu. In Ubuntu software Center, type WineHQ in the Text box, and click on Wine and install it in Ubuntu Software Center.

If you want to install CCleaner, and other windows software and games, right click the installer file, and pick open with wine. Now the installer should start.

When installation of CCleaner is done, a icon called CCleaner.desktop will be on the desktop. Click it and pick mark as trusted to launch it.

CCleaner is great for uninstalling Windows program installed using Wine, and doing disk clean up for Wine. Plus, cleaning wine’s registry. Wine lacks a disk cleanup, registry cleaner, and program add/remove wizard like Windows.

CCleaner is a useful software to install on Wine since  many Windows software still can’t run on wine, so you will still need to uninstall them when you find out you can’t run them in Wine for Ubuntu.

Download CCleaner at http://ccleaner.com

Vist http://appdb.winehq.org/ to find out which Windows software, and games can be emulated in WineHQ by searching Wine’s online Database.
