There are a lot of free video media players for playing back video files like mpeg, flv, wmv, avi, mp4, etc and DVD and VCD discs which are a great alternative to Windows Media Player, and Windows Media Center which you can download and use for Windows 7. I find many of the free media players run very quickly, and can easily playback different types of files which Windows Media Player can not playback because of a missing Codec for playing video files like divx, mkv, flv, etc.

Also, the user interface is simple to use and understand for a lot of free media players. Some media players also support subtitles which is useful playing back foreign films.

All the video players I mention on this posts plays video very clearly and smoothly within Windows 7, XP, Vista and older versions of Windows.

I am using Ubuntu Linux more for my video watching because Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx starts up faster and opens video faster, crashes less when playing video files in my experience.

I find watching video files like avi, mpeg, mov, wmv, divx, FLV, and other video file types on Ubuntu Linux to be great since Ubuntu Linux is free, and so are the video players in most cases, so I can save hundreds of dollars by not buying an operating system or software. I can use the money I saved to buy a better video card, sound card, and larger hard drive for storing my videos.

The video players I like for Ubuntu Linux are also easy to use, fast, and hardly crash much in my experience.

Ubuntu can be one of the best computer operating systems for lower end and cheaper computers. It also works great as a OS for a media center computer or laptop.

I recently have a problem where I can’t delete plugins and themes I don’t use anymore because of 403 error meaning I was forbidden to access the page or folder to delete, or update a plug-in or theme. It was very frustrating. I tried deactivating all my plug-ins to see if it was a plug-in which is blocking me from deleting my plug-in. But, deactivating all my plug-ins did not let me update, or delete my unused themes and plugins. I also tried making my WP-Admin folder not password protected on the server which also did not work.
