Using the mouse quickly is as important, or more important then typing faster in some cases like playing computer games, flash games, and at work, so you can get more tasks done faster with a mouse. Having a fast mice, and smooth surface can also improve your mousing speed since some computer mice are designed for speed, and accuracy for fast computer games like Real Time Strategy games like Warcraft 3, Star Craft, and other games. AÂ laser gaming mouse will also improve your accuracy and speed when using your mouse in Flash games on Facebook like Farmville, Cityville, Fishville, and other similar games where you mainly use your mouse to click on characters, and objects to do tasks to level up in the game, and finish tasks by clicking the mouse. Gaming mice are also more better designed to be easier to hold, and make your hand not as tired after using it for hours compared to using a regular mouse which is not always well designed for comfort.
Some higher end mouses let you change the DPI which stands for Dots per inch which means the higher the DPI usually the faster the mouse, and more accurate. A high DPI is more sensitive while a lower DPI requires more movement to move the cursor. You can usually change the DPI via a switch on the bottom of the mouse, or on your mouse software.
LXDE is Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment which works for Linux operating systems like Fedora, Ubuntu and OpenSUSE. LXDE is the standard desktop environment in Knoppix and Lubuntu which are both CD based operating systems which you can run off of a CD, or install onto your computer hard drive from a CD. LXDE uses very little RAM, CPU, and hard drive resources compared to Windows 7 in my experience, so I can use more of my system resources for more important tasks like Linux gaming, video editing in Kdenlive, image editing with Gimp image editor, or just play flash games like CityVille faster on Facebook, and other websites. I been using LXDE theme in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a computer with a 1.9GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, and onboard video, and it has been running very fast. LXDE theme lets me run apps I run in Ubuntu, but with a faster cleaner theme which uses less system resources then Gnome theme.
If you search Ubuntu Software Center for LXDE , you can find LXDE and install it. The next time you login to Ubuntu pick the LXDE theme instead of Gnome.
