My personal experience with Microsoft Windows Security Essentials

This is a great free security program made by Microsoft. I been using it on a laptop. It is only 4.7 MB to download, simple to use, easy to update and has a lot of settings for more advance users. There is also a handy scheduling feature. What I don’t like is that MS did not make scan removable devices like USB drives automatically by default. The quick scan is very fast.

Download MS Security Essentials at:  http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/
You need a Genuine (non-boot leg copy) of Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3); Windows Vista (Gold, Service Pack 1, or Service Pack 2); Windows 7  more info about System requirements for SE is available at Microsoft Security Essentials’ System requirements site.

I also recommend running Immunet along side with Security Essentials for double the protection.

Use Sandboxie to prevent bad software from messing with your system and infecting, or breaking Windows.

Watch a video of a Lenovo Pheonix Bios laptop booting 7 in under a second using a specially desgned BIOS.

That is one fast boot process on a laptop. I wish my PC booted so fast.

Immunet and Panda cloud antivirus both don’t require you download virus definitions/updates manually. Immunet and Panda cloud both use the internet to protect your PC. They both run on Windows. But, with immunet you do not have to uninstall your current anti-virus to install Immunet, but with Panda you have to uninstall your current Anti-virus programs.

I like Immunet more since I can keep my current antivirus and run along immunet as well. I haven’t tried Panda, so I don’t have an opinion on it. Immunet is fast, and uses very little system resources. It is good for older computers, and low-end computers.
