Watching TV on your Windows 7 Computer is very easy. All you have to do is open Windows Media Center and plug in your USB TV tuner or install an internal PCI TV tuner card. Windows Media Center is very similar to Windows Media Player, but it also has the ability to watch, record, and schedule TV recordings. Usually TV Tuners come with free bundled software like
which comes with Win TV 7. I have been using the HVR 850 for more then a month and it works great with WinTV7 recording software. I love how I can record my shows at specific times, and watch them anytime. Plus, I have the ability to fast forward through Commercials with VLC, GOM, or Windows Media Player or pause live TV with WinTV7 like a Tivo or DVR. The sound and video quality is decent for analog TV, but if I lived in the states where all the channels are digital HD, my quality will be even more better compared to standard Analog cable which is still the most popular TV service in Canada. A USB TV tuner is a great deal for under 60 dollars you can watch, record, schedule recordings, and pause live TV. You can also attach a VCR to your TV tuner and convert your videos to Digital video files for backup purposes.
Changing channels in WinTV7 is also very easy since I just click on a list of channels in the sidebar of WinTV7.
