Start computer from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS live CD video

In this video, I will teach you how to start your computer from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS live install CD. All you have to do is configure your BIOS CMOS or Boot loader to tell your computer to boot from a Optical disc like CD or DVD instead of a floppy or hard drive first. You need to press F11, Del, esc, or some other key depending on your brand of computer or motherboard. Press the pause button on the keyboard immediately after you press the power switch on your computer to pause the start up process since there is usually a text start up screen which is black and white where there are labels on the screen to tell you which buttons to press to enter the BIOS or boot loader.

You look for the boot or startup priority window or section in the BIOS setup control panel by using your left, right, top, down, and enter keyboard buttons. Your mouse does not work in your BIOS in most cases.

After Ubuntu CD is loaded, it will ask you if you want to “test it out” or “install it” I recommend testing out ubuntu first from the live CD to see if Ubuntu is the right Linux distro for you.

Plus, you can install Linux in the live CD mode by clicking the desktop shortcut in Ubuntu’s live CD desktop, and following the install wizard.
